One of the direct to consumer brands we've followed for a long time is Parachute. Today, the LA-based home basics company just released a full bath collection. I am already a happy owner of their massive bath sheets (in fact my brother asked for them for Christmas after using them while staying with me) and I hope the rest of the extended bath line is just as wonderful!
Back in San Francisco I hosted a brunch with the wonderful ladies from Margaux NY, a new brand for the modern woman. Margaux launched with a signature product -- a classic ballerina custom made for your foot. However, my current favorite product is their newer soft and casual Demi flats.
And.... we're back. After a long summer hiatus and numerous emails from you saying "where are you!?" I'm here! And not only am I here, I'm here with one of my favorite new furniture finds, ARTICLE. So say you aren't mad at me?? Just look at this sofa...
In Article's own words, they "deliver beautifully designed modern furniture, with outstanding attention to detail, at fair prices." I love the incredible assortment offered and ability to customize fabrics. In my mind there is a big gigantic sad sink hole in the market between low quality furniture and uber expensive options. And even the expensive stores also often have dated ordering experiences and delayed shipping times.
With ARTICLE, many items are in stock and will arrive within 2 and 5 days (!). Also, shipping is a flat fee of $49. You can also choose to upgrade to room of choice delivery for $99 or to room of choice delivery, complete with unpacking and assembly $169. No hiring a Task Rabbit for you!
While ARTICLE pieces surely aren't cheap, they are much more affordable than comparable pieces and the designs will stand the test of time (and trends). You can shop ARTICLE here.
My relationship with the Daily Skimm is complicated. I can't get over the flippant nature of the reporting and while I no longer call myself subscriber, I know many people enjoy it and I give Danille and Carly credit for achieving incredible product/market fit. Regardless of my stance on the Daily Skimm, I am really loving their new product, "Skimm Ahead." Have you heard of it?
It basically "Skimm-ifies" your calendar, adding in the fun things you wish you remembered, but likely don't have on your calendar.... the NBA Draft, the French Open, the National Spelling Bee, Adele Tickets going on sale....etc...
While I can't say I am eager to hear when Orange is the New Black is premiering, I do love the idea of this calendar overlay so long as it becomes more customizable to each person. What do you think? The app/calendar overlay is $2.99/month, but the first month trial is free.
You may have caught my post a while back on Zady, the eCommerce company some are calling the "whole foods" of fashion. Since then, Zady has continued to roll out new products that adhere to its 'new standard' for sourcing and manufacturing. Most recently, the Striped Sailor Shirt made in the USA from 100% organic cotton...
This shirt makes me eager for spring weekends! Shop the striped shirt and more here.
My very talented friend Emily has been working on an incredible project called Getaway...
In short, Getaway builds tiny, modern, cabins in the woods, that are located within a 2 hour drive of major cities. The company is helping make your dreams of spending time "away from it all" much more accessible. You just rent your cabin of choice and Getaway sends you the directions right before your stay. Up until now, Getaway has only been outside of Boston, but they just expanded to offer cabins within 2 hours of New York!
Wow, I cannot believe it's already Thursday. What are you up to this weekend? I've been traveling what feels like every weekend and am so thankful to have a weekend at home. I'm hoping to go out and see this movie.
In the spirit of travel, have you heard of Raden? It's a new smart luggage company and it seems like they've thought of everything...
First and foremost I love the sleek design. Luckily it has beauty and brains, with a built in charger, location tracking, and an integrated scale so you can weigh your bag before the officious people at the desk do.
Raden currently comes in two sizes, a 22-inch carry-on size or a 28-inch check-in size and seven colors and range in price from $295 to $595.
While reading Cup of Jo this morning I came across the lovely home of Birgit Sfat, founder of kids clothing ecommerce site Over the Ocean. When she relocated from Germany to San Francisco's Noe Valley, many people asked about her daughter Milla's unique clothes (see adorable Milla below.) Sensing an interest in European labels, she opened Over the Ocean to bring these designs to the U.S.
